Details: I have for sale one of my 300SD´s that I have been hanging on to for awhile. I have bought plenty of these cars with the same om617 motor in them so I am very familiar with the motors of these cars. This one has an exceptionally nice motor. There is virtually no blow by when car is at full temp. The transmission shifts into gears a little clunky, but not slipping. It can be adjusted to shift, or you can kinda drive it like a manual:) The car gets unreal fuel mileage . I have not messed with the Alda valve so shes really slow unless warmed up. The interior could use a little face lift.. Or the springs in the seats rather. I actually bought a spring repair kit, but never got around to fixing it, hince the pillow on the driver seat. The seats are power and the controller for the driver is missing. The passenger side has its actuator but no covers. It does have MB tex instead of the leather which in my opinion is way nicer as it does not crack. Back seats is in great shape. Tires in front are great. Back ones in picture I am taking off since they´re my brothers. I have decent ones to put on there for whoever buys this car. There is rust all around the car. I dont think anything that is preventing the car from driving by any means, but the door panels all around and a small little bit here and there. (if you want to know about somewhere specific just ask) . All the windows go up and down although one of them needs a little help sometimes. Sunroof opens fast but closes slow for the last inch or two so the grease that connects the cable must be a little like molasses after 28 years. Gets about 450 miles on a full tank although the speedometer quick working on me about 1000 miles ago. Its frozen at 269,999 . (must have been scared of 270:) The wood all around on the inside has either been removed by the previous owner or spray painted gray for some reason. The car also has to be started with pliers, broken key or whatever you can find since someone put an gasoline ignition in it. There is a vaccuum line with a shut off valve hidden against the console that you have to turn to shut the motor off. Heater works, AC does not, stereo works out of the rear speakers only. All the other interior lights work, headlights, brights, fogs, etc. I think that may be all . If I left anything out please ask or call me. I tried to point out all of the negative points . I have a spare ignition, spring kit to fix seats, etc. If you wanna offer me a lower price, thats fine, or take it for 1600 and I can throw in a 175$ mb diesel ignition i purchased. I am sure we could work something out as I am pretty flexible. Not in a crunch for cash so 800 bucks is not going to win my heart over. The car is worth 280 bucks at the scrap yard after you take out the perfect motor and the transmission. I know i can get almost 500 each for the motor and trans once removed and then you can just scrap it. I have the ability to do that myself as I did it with a 300D about 2 weeks ago. Id rather just see the car still out cruising on the road. They´re good cars and im sure will fall apart long before the motor gives you any grief. Let me know if you would like to come look at it. I am liquidating my collection only to buy another mercedes diesel. Details: I am selling my classic Mercedes 300SD Diesel with a professionally rebuilt engine and a 12mth warranty from the Foreign Service Shop that completed the rebuild. I bought this car over 3 years ago and made many repairs and upgrades with all documentation. It has a perfect body with NO rust and nearly 300,000 miles. It was brought north from the Atlanta area and was stored every winter. It has tan leather seating with power seats. Pwr Moonroof, AM/FM/HD Rado/CD/MP3 Radio, PS, PB, auto transmission, AC, Pwr Windows, Pwr Antenna, New Turbo, Two new window regulators, New Mercedes Hood Emblem, New Injectors, New Hood Liner, New Antenna, New Turbo System, New Water Pump, All new Engine components(Bearings, Rings, Guides, Seals, Gaskets, Sleeves, Timing Chain, etc) New Hotter glow plug system, All rear suspension has been replaced, 4 recent shocks, new Battery, transmission was professionally replaced last year and the old one goes with the car. This car is good for another 300k as these cars are built like tanks. Only issues are it has a few small door dings, faded paint on the trunk, and mismatching headlights which could be easily upgraded. I have some new and used additional parts and all the manuals including the Mercedes Service Manual on DVD. I am losing money on this deal but I need to sell it as I have a baby on the way and I need to payoff the shop that rebuilt the engine. This is and ideal candidate for a WVO conversion, it currently gets 31 MPG highway.
