Details: Mercedes 300TD Wagon. Very dark blue. Non-turbo.. I´ve had this car for over 5 years. Bought from original owner for $5000. Had it converted to run on waste veggie oil, and ran it that way for a couple of years. Great (and free!) if you have time and space to collect/filter the oil, but when I moved to a house without space to store filtering system I went back to running on diesel. Still has the option to run on WVO, though, and I still have the holding tank/filling station/pump that comes with the car (the single-tank conversion cost over $1000, and the tank/filter/pump was an extra $375). I had the conversion done at Diesel Oil Conversions in Santa Maria, CA. I don´t know the brand of kit they used, but you are free to contact them to ask. Car runs well... daily driver.. The odometer reads 145,800. It works, but I wouldn´t be surprised if it turns over slower than it should. Car gets 30 miles to the gallon on diesel.. AND never needs to be smogged!! It´s got a manual sunroof, and tinted windows (electric, all work, usually!).It´s quirks:Windshield cracked ($250 to replace)Brakes need either an adjustment or new padsTransmission needs adjusting (shifts fine when driving, but sometimes doesn´t engage in park on the first try)Lost key to lock doors, so I leave it unlocked..Interior okay.. Seats good, but some cracks and breaks in other areas inside the car. Carpets very worn.Has original radio.. doesn´t workBody pretty good, with some chips, rust spots, and dings here and there.. hood doesn´t sit completely flush (but you hardly notice, as seen in the photo)..Paint okay.. clear coat intact, but could use a nice waxFront passenger headlight beam position needs to be adjustedSome drips around doors in heavy rain..Also, no working heater/acThat´s all I can think of right now. I am a mechanic and have spent countless hours cleaning up this beautiful machine, and if anyone can answer a question about this car it is me. It has never broken down on me in the six years I´ve owned it, and I made the trip from the Bay Area to SLO on Saturday afternoon without any problems at all.I can assure you, unless you are VERY ugly, you will get waves and compliments all day long in this beautiful ride. Two already this morning before posting this ad while I was cleaning out the trunk.There are some issues with the car, and they are reflected in the price. There is a small leak in the radiator, meaning you need to check the levels periodically. There are two dents on the drivers side from a hit and run when someone backed into it while it was parked on the street. I believe they can be popped out without cracking paint or anything and I am taking the benz to a body shop this morning to see what they can do. The seats all were restuffed and had new leather installed by the previous owner, but after he let it sit in the sun too long the back seat developed some cracks. The steering coupling needs to be replaced. The weatherstripping needs to be done, that was going to be my next project for this car.It runs beautifully. No two ways about it. For all its minor flaws, it really doesn´t take away from the ride. Call to set up a time to see it, I am not in a rush to sell this car as it is driven DAILY and has been a DAILY DRIVER. This is certainly not a parts car and I will not accept low ball offers. Just received the stickers for the license plate, so the registration is good until 2013.
