Only other thing wrong with the car is that it needs a new Ac compressor for the air conditioning to work. it is a simple job and I just dont car to do it as AC is not important to me.The dash does have some cracks in it however I have yet to find a 300d that does not.Just turned over to 220,000 miles, however these cars will last into the 500,00 mile mark with only minor service. Also many improper tuned 300d´s soot heavily under acceleration, I have mine tuned properly and it barely soots. i get an average of 28MPG IN TOWN with this car. Also it easily passed smog in nevadaNo rust on the car, it apparently had rust when the previous owner owned it near the license plate, however he had a mercedes dealer professionally install a new panel (receipts to prove it)I have meticulously maintained the car and have done oil changes every 3000 miles with Mann filters and very high grade diesel oil, also I add diesel additive every other tank to keep the pump properly lubricated. This car has never been run on anything but straight diesel fuel so the engine is in perfect shape. Also I had the valves adjusted about 2000 miles ago. It has an after market air intake installed on the car, this intake flows slightly more than stock however it allows you to adjust the valves without taking it off and it does not constantly break like the stock intake. Also the car has an aftermarket exhaust on it that flows allot better and improves the MPGs without making a whole bunch of noise ( I Have both stock items if you want to put the car back to stock)This car runs amazing and has never given me issues starting even in the snow.The dashboard has some cracks (See Pics), no tears in the seats, carpet is in good condition and I just replaced the clear plastic that covers the gauges so it looks brand new. Plenty of power when you need it. You may not believe this but this car actually gets 28mpg on the highway and 22mpg in the city. I would have no hesitation driving this car to anywhere in the US I have frequently driven with this from Reno to LA, Reno to Tahoe, Reno to Sacramento and never had a problem this was the last year of true german engineering for this engine and I really do believe that its bullet proof.
