Details: 124k miles. I have a reasonable standing offer on the vehicle, so please don´t waste both of our time. You must be ready to purchase this vehicle before the weekend for the stated price, as I will accept the standing offer on Saturday. My goal is to minimize loss here not make any money. This car is being sold as is.This vehicle was purchased a couple of weeks ago for $5200. Since then I have paid an additional $250 for taxes and tags, plus $800 in planned repairs. I had a presale inspection done at Firestone on the vehicle prior to purchasing, and a couple of things were missed. I was also hit with a worse case $$ amount for a repair on the report. I am now in the unfortunate situation of going over budget from what I originally planned. The roof on my home also needs repairing, so I am bailing on the vehicle, and my wife and I will share a ride until we recover financially. Yes, the loss is painful, but the long term increase in debt would be more painful at this point given my necessary pending home repairs. The good:I am driving this car daily at this point, and it feels very solid. The body is in nearly perfect condition. The interior is in good condition, with no rips in any of the seats or upholstery, but it is not perfect. The suspension on this car is flawless. It aligns perfectly and handles like a dream. It is a very smooth ride and very enjoyable to drive. The tires are nearly brand new. The brakes are good. The engine runs excellent, and the transmission seems strong. It does seem to like being warmed up though prior to driving when cold. It has a new full synthetic oil change, and a new power steering pump ( worse case repair I had done). In general, this car feels as though it is in excellent mechanical condition where the major concerns would be. The gas mileage is actually fairly decent, and it has all the creature comforts you´d expect in a luxury SUV. Leather programmable power seats, power windows, doors, mirrors, etc. In general, it´s quite comfortable to drive.The bad:The inspection report listed; O2 sensors (check engine light), MAF sensor (check engine light), oil change, leaking power steering fluid, wet floorboards (leaking sunroof). What I knew about was intermittent power seats. What they missed and what put me over budget; AC and parking break. I have been told that the O2 and MAF errors in the computer are most likely connector problems. The same would be true for the intermittent power seats, although they have been working the past few days without issue. The leaking sunroof is a simple problem of disconnected drain tubes as near as I can tell. I was able to get to the one on the drives side, and it was dangling freely. Basically water drains into little holes around the edge of the sunroof through the roof in the front, which connect to rubber hoses which run inside the cab compartment. They connect to another set of tubes around foot level and out the bottom. The driver side was disconnected, so I re-connected it and plugged the drain up top on the passenger side. This is only a temporary fix. It´s a minor repair, but nothing is free. I had the leaking power steering pump replaced, and a full synthetic oil change. When I got the car back is when I noticed the parking break and AC. As difficult as it was to accept, I decided to cease all repairs and absorb the loss up to that point. The AC is most likely a compressor, which can be bought online for about $300-$400+labor. The parking break is about a $250 repair. I can´t do the labor on either of these myself, so here is where I´m at.What it needs:An electronics guy to find the shorts in the connections. The leaking sunroof is the most likely cause of the power seat problem, and possibly the O2 and MAF issue from what I´ve heard. The inspection report from Firestone even says it, but I don´t know for certain. AC most likely needs a new compressor, although it could be electrical as well. The parking break needs a new cable. The leaking sunroof just needs to be reconnected, and should probably be the least of anyones concerns as far as cost goes, but it definitely needs fixing. This car should also be serviced by a professional (ie. transmission, transfer case, differentials inspected and fluids changed). This would be considered normal maintenance for a MB, and something I would have had done before I decided to bail on the car.
