The car is driven daily without any problems. I was in the process of a new paint job due to a couple rust spots and wanted to restore it to as ´showroom´ as possible. besides that the only thing I can say is the AC stopped working this past summer, heat works perfect. Everything else works as it should. The engine light has been on for about 1.5 years but I have had 2 tune ups with no issues. As mentioned, it is a 99. I use synthetic oil when oil changes come up. The engine it self is great and the car runs strong. It´s a fun ride and truely hate to be doing this. I had a 2008 BMW and was in love with this mercedes much more than the Beemer. Since I purchased vehicle, I replaced upper and lower ball joints, new OEM tie rod assemblies (both rh & lh) from Mercedes, new front shocks, new front tires (back are very good Michelins), front rh window regulator, climate control module and glow plugs. Car needs nothing, only thing wrong is drivers door key lock cylinder does not lock or unlock car, needs to be replaced. All power options (windows, seats, sunroof, etc.) work just as they should. This car has TONS of room in it and a very large truck. Car is Charcoal grey exterior in very, very good condition with some minor dings in hood and small paint chips, absolutely no rust, garage kept. Details: 1991 Mercedes 420SEL177,300 milesEverything works. Usually does on Mercedes. It´s loaded up with all you would expect in a European luxury car.I´ve had it for five years. I´m selling it because I have two kids in college, and too many cars. I also have a 2000 S-Class, and I have to say, this is a better riding car. -Heated Seats front and rear (Heated seats in back are rare on this car)-Decent Sound system with bass unit in trunk. Can plug in iphone-New Transmission at 137K-Oil changed regularly-Brakes all around & Rotors done @ 167K-New Mercedes Battery @ 167K-Timing chain is sound. This is a problem with this model, so one has to be aware of it. I had an 1989 - same car, where the chain went out and threw a piston. Ruined the car. Bummer.What´s wrong with it:-Dent under Right Rear light (I blame my kids. One kid in particular.....)-Drivers carpet is not perfect - Hey, the car is 20 yrs old, a classic!-Trim around drivers and pax shoulder harness is loose-A/C works great, but might need a hit. I do it about every other year, and it probably needs it this year. -Blows and leaks a little oil. It´s consistent, and oil is cheap. The guy before me said he spent a bunch of money trying to fix it, and for me, it´s easier to keep an eye on it. Most MX done at Jacks in Greenville. Asking $4,300 - Might entertain a trade.
