Details: Up for sale is a beautiful European made 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 S Sedan. This Benz has been garage kept and is extremely clean for it´s age. It was my fathers and now is time to let her go. The exterior is in immaculate shape with a tiny bit of rust under the doors (see images). The original wood work is in great shape with a small amount of wood coming up in the corners of the dashboard. The leather interior is flawless except for one tiny 1″ rip in the back seat and 2″ discoloring on the back seat. Stereo works. Air conditioning does not. All the doors and windows work fine. I tried to reinstall a door latch on the passenger side door yet the door still sticks out maybe 1/4 of an inch. Does not leak. Original carpeting in great condition except for a small patch in the front passanger side. This is a straight 6 cylinder with a 2.8 liter engine. Two new carburetors have been installed. Brakes work perfectly. Transmission shifts flawlessly. The lights need to be replaced behind the gages because they don´t light up at night. All the exterior lights work perfectly. I´ve driven the car almost 200 miles in the last two weeks to make sure everything is in perfect and reliable condition. I WOULD DRIVE THIS CAR CROSS COUNTRY no problem. All the belts are tight without cracks. all the fluid levels are stable and topped off. New spark plugs. Radio works! Wheels are in like new condition with signature hub caps. All gages are functioning properly. Again this car drives true, smooth and straight. It is in beautiful Condition. A few minor nicks on exterior. Original Paint. Title is clear. 91000 ORIGINAL MILES. Details: Looking to sell or trade my Benz for something a little more fuel efficient. I´ve had her for just over a year and all in all, has been a great car I just don´t need this much vehicle. It´s two tone blue and white with a blue leather interior. This car has options you never knew existed. Power everything including headrests and power telescoping wheel, heated washer fluid bottle so you don´t even have to scrape off ice in the winter. These cars are getting harder and harder to find especially with the 4Matic package, which consists of modified suspension and computer controlled all-wheel drive that instantly engages when needed and turns itself off to save gas. These cars are AMAZING in bad weather. Engine is a 3L inline 6 which is absolutely indestructible, has 230k on the clock and still runs like new, doesn´t burn a drop of oil or smoke, knock, or tick in any way. I always use synthetic oil and premium fuel and the previous owner claimed to have done the same. This is a great car that will get you anywhere you need to go without fail but it does have a few small issues that will need to be attended to.-If you want perfection, the hood has a few dimples and there is some damage to the grill from a low speed collision in a parking lot-The drivers side rear strut mount is broken so it does clunk over large bumps, a backyard mechanic can easily fix this. The actual strut is fine but the mount is toast.-Front pass. side wheel speed sensor is out resulting in the 4Matic system having to be operated manually, car operates as RWD unless a switch is flipped under the hood for AWD. This part is around $75 depending on where you get it, just plugs in for easy replacement. The ABS system still works flawlessly.Other than that you have an inexpensive German rarity worth taking a look at. No broken glass or other surprises, has CD player, real leather interior in nice shape, real wood trim. Below is just a picture to give you an idea of what the car looks like, I´ll post actual pictures of MY car when I have time to borrow a camera.I´m interested in trades as well so let me know what you have, would prefer German cars or something with a manual trans. NO CAVALIERS, SUNFIRES, GRAND AMS OR OTHER GM 4 CYLINDER TRASH. May take a bike as well.Call me or text (231)730-three five 00 with any questions or to take a look. I bought this car over 3 years ago and made many repairs and upgrades with all documentation. It has a perfect body with NO rust and nearly 300,000 miles. It was brought north from the Atlanta area and was stored every winter. It has tan leather seating with power seats. Pwr Moonroof, AM/FM/HD Rado/CD/MP3 Radio, PS, PB, auto transmission, AC, Pwr Windows, Pwr Antenna, New Turbo, Two new window regulators, New Mercedes Hood Emblem, New Injectors, New Hood Liner, New Antenna, New Turbo System, New Water Pump, All new Engine components(Bearings, Rings, Guides, Seals, Gaskets, Sleeves, Timing Chain, etc) New Hotter glow plug system, All rear suspension has been replaced, 4 recent shocks, new Battery, transmission was professionally replaced last year and the old one goes with the car. This car is good for another 300k as these cars are built like tanks. Only issues are it has a few small door dings, faded paint on the trunk, and mismatching headlights which could be easily upgraded. I have some new and used additional parts and all the manuals including the Mercedes Service Manual on DVD. I am losing money on this deal but I need to sell it as I have a baby on the way and I need to payoff the shop that rebuilt the engine. This is and ideal candidate for a WVO conversion, it currently gets 31 MPG highway.
