Just drove to Dearborn, Michigan and back without a single issue. 1980 Mercedes Benz 450 SEL originally from California with less than 164,000 miles, runs great, starts right up, and had transmission rebuilt in October, still has a little over 2000 mile warranty on transmission. I love this car and you will too. It has a 4.5 liter v8 unleaded gas engine, all disc brakes, ahead of its time with a power sliding moonroof thats goes into the roof and all power windows. Car is stored in heated garage during winters and only driven during non-salty seasons. Heat, power windows and power sliding moonroof work great. Also power antennae works as well. I put around $9k into it between the original purchase and restoring it to its current state. Mechanically, it is in very good condition. The interior is also in very good condition. There are a couple of small rips on the bottom half of the drivers seat. I´ve been driving it for fun for the last 12 years and it starts up smoothly every time. It has always been stored in a garage since I have owned it (bought in 1999). There has been minor work done to the under body in the area of the drivers seat floor board, due to rust. Paint on hood/roof /trunk is faded. Odometer reads ~50k miles, but there are only 5 digits, so it has probably rolled over.
