Details: FOR SALE: 1981 Mercedes 240D A great classic car built like a tank.This biodiesel ready car has approx 200 miles. ( the odomter broke in june at 196k. it still works intermttently). These old diesel cars are known to go forever 500k would not be a stretch. It is 4 doors and has an automatic transmission. I average about 34mpg in the city!The exterior is in great shape with 2 small rust spots on the corner of a door on the driver and passenger side. (The previous owner told me it was naval jellied?? which is supposed to keep it from spreading.)The Interior is also in excellent shape. The carpet is a little faded and there is one tiny split in the mb tex on the drivers seat. Hardly noticeable thoughThe car runs and drives excellent. Since I have owned it I have put in:new front brakesoil change every 2500-3000 milesreplaced oil filter housing gasket (one of the most common leaks in these old mercedes)valves were adjusted about 4500 miles ago.There are a couple of small leaks and the vacuum door lock system doesnt work. My mechanic (star tech mercedes) gave me a to do list on the car that I can give you.Its hard to price this car.
