I have a log book that recorded EVERY fill up, the additive that he put in at every fill up, the oil changes, all of the mechanical updates and most importantly. . ..we continued that tradition.My family grew up with 220 and 240D´s which was difficult to pull off in Michigan. . ...especially when your grandfather and family were UAW members. My grandfather (Heinrich Wilberding- ´Henry) came to this country from Germany via Ellis Island and although he had little money his goal was to one day ´Own a Mercedes like da vealthy´. His passion, my father´s, mine AND the Kramer´s are all reflected in this classic 300CD.We have poured thousands of dollars in preventative maintenance, new pirelli´s, bilstein´s and major air conditioning update make this a great find. Many of the ebay ads I have seen are positioning this body style as a future collectible. I am not sure of the appreciation and collectibility, but to find a nice one is getting harder and harder to do. This is better than a daily driver and the originality and patina would be welcome at any local Concours or Classic Car show.The interior is not in need of restoration and due to the years and years of garage only parking, no sunlight and rain. . ..the dash is perfect! No CRACKS! No ugly carpet covering it up.The MB Tech seats have no rips or tears and the back seat is nearly flawless. Car also has euro headlights, alpine stereo and 6 disc cd changer, full documentation, original manuals, key and valet key fob, MB Catalog and a huge 3 ring binder with over $50,000 in receipts!!!The Moonroof and rear right window do not work very well which is linked to a vacuum hose for sure. It hasn´t been driven much in the past 3 years so we have not fixed it. I get a lot of thumbs up and stares when I do drive the car. We are available to answer any and all questions you may have.
